crocus of any sort are delightful but i think i like the stripey ones the best.
hellebores are a late winter treat.
one of the first trees to bloom...cornus mas...cornelian cherry, which isn't a cherry at all but a dogwood.
after pruning the roses (how do they manage to grow so fast in one season?!), chopping back some of the clematis and scooting accumulated leaves from the emerging crocus i went inside to work on the tiny scale of bead dolls. the instructions are in japanese so i do as best as i can.
